Stay warm in your car! Enjoy the convenience of returning your materials or paying your fines with your debit or credit card (Master Card and Visa only) at this window. You can even pick up your holds at the Drive- Up window by calling the Reference Desk at least 2 hours ahead at 248.869.7202. Remember you will need your Novi Public Library card to take advantage of this service.

SUMMER READING 2015

We encourage all adults, teens, tweens and youth to join this year’s summer reading game’s beginning Monday, June 15 through Saturday, August 1. Come into the Library or sign up online at www.novilibrary.org for any of the Summer Reading Games. We hope to see everyone reading, learning, and enjoying the many activities the Library offers this summer!

READING IN OUR NOVI PARKS

Visiting a Novi park this summer just got more exciting! Take advantage of the Read Boxes located in Lakeshore Park, ITC Park and Rotary Park. This program is designed to encourage summer reading for all ages! Keep the book as long as you like and when you are done, please return it to the Read Box or the Library. The Read Boxes will be available from May-October. Happy Reading!

SUNDAY HOURS

Remember the Library is open on Sundays from 12-6pm. This will give patrons more time to check out items from a variety of collections, surf the web on one of our many computers, and enjoy a good book on the patio.

SPRING INTO NOVI

Fall for Novi has sprung forward and will now take place on Saturday, May 2. We will be participating in this family fun event at the City’s Civic Center, so please stop by our table to say hi and hear about the valuable information services, business resources and programs we have to offer you.

COMMUNITY READS

The 6th annual Community reads will debut August 13. Once again the Novi Public Library will be partnering with the Libraries of Lyon Township, Northville District, Salem-South Lyon District, and Wixom to offer an exciting book for everyone to read, discuss, and engage in activities. Keep an eye out for the book title and details.

SOAR AND EXPLORE WITH THE MICHIGAN ACTIVITY PASS

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

HISTORY OF ARMENIAN MUSIC

Marking the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, we will present brothers Ara and Keri Topouzian for an evening of reading and live music. Keri is author of The Perfect Armenian, a historical novel and Ara is a 2012 Kresge Artist Fellow and musician. This program is dedicated to the Armenians who lost their lives 100 years ago.

TEEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Interested in volunteering? The Youth & Teen Services Department are looking for students going into grades 7-12 to assist with the Summer Reading Program. Volunteers are asked to work two-hour shifts once a week for at least four weeks of the program (Jun 15-Aug 1). Volunteers should be able to work with computers and be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with people of all ages. Applications and work permits will be available online and in the Library beginning May 1.

UNMASK A GREAT READ- TWEEN SUMMER READING GAME

Beginning Monday, June 15 until Saturday, August 1, you will be able to come into the Library or go to the Library website to sign up for our Summer Reading game. This year’s game is for tweens going into grades 5-8. Using our website, you will keep track of the time you spend reading. Then come into the Library to collect your prizes, check out books, and attend our activities. Finish 24 hours of reading and you’ll be entered 4 times into our grand prize drawing. Teen volunteers will be on hand to assist you with the registration process and prize redemption.  ESCAPE THE ORDINARY-TEEN SUMMER READING

Beginning Monday, June 15 until Saturday, August 1, come into the Library or go to the Library website to sign up for Teen Summer Reading. Teens in grades 9-12 are encouraged to read or listen to a minimum of three books and enter them into your reading log. After finishing the three books you will be awarded a gift card. The last day to collect your prize is August 1st.

EVERY HERO HAS A STORY: NOVI PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER READING GAME

Beginning Monday, June 15 and continuing until Saturday, August 1, you will be able to go online or come into the Library to sign up for our Summer Reading Game. This year we will sponsor two separate games for preschool and elementary age children:

• “Read to Me” for children under kindergarten age
• “Every Hero has Story” for children going into grades K-4

Using our website, keep track of the time reading/being read to. Teen volunteers will be on hand to assist you with the registration process and the prize redemption.
