The Board of Review will meet for the purpose of hearing and considering assessment protests in the Novi City Council Chambers.  No appointments will be given until a petition is received by the Assessing Department.

 Application for Building Permit and Plan Examination
This application must be completed for residential and non-residential permits. 
 Application for Addresses
This application must be completed for any development to receive an address for a subdivision (residential or non-residential) or an individual non-residential lot.  This does not need to be completed for a single family residential home unless it is not in an existing or proposed subdivision.  
 Electrical Permit Application
A copy of the electrical fee schedule is included with the application. 
 Plumbing Permit Application
A copy of the plumbing fee schedule is included with the application.
 Mechanical Permit Application
A copy of the mechanical fee schedule in included with the application.
 Mechanical Permit Application - Refrigeration

 Gas Pressure Test

 Woodlands and Wetlands Affidavit
Must be completed for any residential work, i.e., new homes, additions, decks, pools, etc.
 Request for Private Development Inspection
This form must be filled out in order to schedule an inspection regarding financial guarantees. If you are requesting a landscape, woodland, or street tree inspection please include the completed Landscape and Tree Inspection Checklist.

Truss Schematic Plan Requirements
Truss specs and truss layout will be required to be on site for the rough building inspection. These must be on site before an inspection can be performed. In addition, the specifications must be signed and sealed by a registered architect or engineer from the State of Michigan and have the job address on the specs. Once the rough inspection is approved the inspector is to take (1) one copy back to office to be filed in the specific project file.
With regards to the plan review, a truss layout must be submitted along with the plans to be reviewed. In addition, the plans must show structural point loads, header material, header sizes, laminated beams, micro lams, etc.
 Occupancy Request
When you would like to request occupancy you must complete this form. Please note that the Building Department requires a two day notice to process the request.

 Temporary Special Land Use Application
A Temporary Special Land Use Permit is required by the City of Novi Code of Ordinances for temporary buildings and uses for temporary periods of time.  Read more here.
 Temporary Special Exception Application
The City of Novi Code of Ordinances requires a Temporary Special Exception Permit for tent, sidewalk, or flower/plant sales that are accessory to a permitted use of property, and seasonal sales of produce (i.e., fruits and vegetables), firewood, or Christmas trees and the temporary location of a temporary or premanufactured building.  Sanitary Sewer System Easement
This easement form is necessary to allow maintenance of the sanitary sewer system located on the developed property by the City of Novi. This form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City. The sanitary sewer easement described must be a minimum of twenty (20) feet in width.
 Water System Easement
This easement form is necessary to allow maintenance of the water system located on the developed property by the City of Novi. This form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City. The water main easement described must be a minimum of twenty (20) feet in width.
 Bill-of-Sale for Subdivisions
This form is required for each utility (water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer) and/or street(s) within a subdivision, conveying the improvements to the City of Novi. This document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Bill-of-Sale for Non-Residential Developments
This form is required for each utility (water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer) and/or street(s) within a non-residential development, conveying the improvements to the City of Novi. This form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Conservation Easement
This easement form is necessary for the protection of the remaining wetlands and/or woodlands area on the developed site. This easement should include the natural features associated with the wetlands and/or woodlands. This document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Cross Access Easement
This easement form is necessary when access is proposed for back and forth movement between two parcels. This easement form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Ingress and Egress Easement
This form is required when allowing vehicular ingress, egress and circulation of one parcel to another, but not both. This easement form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Emergency Access Easement
This document form is required for the purpose of ingress and egress by emergency service providers in, over, upon and through the developed property. This easement form and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Sidewalk Easement
This easement document is required for the purpose of providing a permanent easement for a public walkway over, across and through the developed property. This easement document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Storm Drainage Maintenance Easement Agreement
This form is required when storm drainage is detained and/or retained, including but not limited to detention/sedimentation basins for the collection, conveyance, storage, treatment and/or discharge of storm water from the property. This document insures that the Storm Water Facilities operate and continue to function as intended at the owner’s expense. This agreement and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Storm Sewer and Surface Drainage Easement
This easement form is a requirement for the purposes of storm water and surface drainage, over, upon, across, in, through the developed property. This document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Maintenance and Guarantee Bond - City Contract
 Maintenance and Guarantee Bond - Developer
This form is required of any proposed public utility (water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer) and/or street(s), separately, for a period of two (2) years, from the date of Temporary Certificate of Occupancy issuance. Its purpose is to insure the improvements are in good working and functioning order during that period and allowing the ability to repair any necessary defects. This document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
 Subordination Agreement
This form is required if the under signer of a mortgage, a particular easement or a bill-of-sale is different than listed as owner of record.  This agreement recognizes the agent as an authorized member of the development to dedicate any improvements to the City of Novi. This document and any exhibits are subject to the approval of the City.
